September in Review

September has been another busy and exciting month for the team, bringing success on the racecourse, our doors opened for the first time at Newmarket Open Weekend and the beginning of an important period in the yearling sales calendar.

Two-Year-Old Success on the Track

There was plenty to be encouraged by on the racecourse during September, with Uisce Domhain making a winning debut at Wolverhampton.

Owned by Mrs A Kavanagh, the daughter of Profiterole by Iffraaj was purchased at the Goffs Go Sale and was bred by Kildaragh Stud. Her performance provided an exciting early indication of her potential and was a rewarding result for everyone involved.

With several promising juveniles continuing to gain valuable experience, there is plenty to look forward to as the yard's two-year-olds progress through the remainder of the season.

Newmarket Open Weekend

September also saw the return of the Henry Cecil Open Weekend, with the yard opening its doors for the first time and welcoming visitors for a special weekend celebrating racing and the team behind Rix Racing.

It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase life behind the scenes, giving visitors an insight into the daily routine and the work that goes into preparing racehorses and their day-to-day life.

The weekend provided a wonderful chance to meet racing enthusiasts, introduce new people to the sport and share the passion we have for the sport.

Yearling Sales Season Underway

Away from the racecourse, attention has turned towards the future as the yearling sales season gets underway.

We attended the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale at Doncaster, where we purchased an exciting filly who is a full sister to Mr Macartney, one of the stable's most promising two-year-olds.

Mr Macartney has enjoyed an excellent season so far, winning a £30,000 Novice race in April before progressing to Royal Ascot, where he ran with great credit in the Norfolk Stakes.

The filly shares many similarities with her brother and impressed us with her athleticism, quality and overall presence. As a GBB-registered filly, she will also be eligible for a range of valuable bonuses throughout her racing career, in addition to qualifying for the Harry's Half Million Sales Race during the Sky Bet Ebor Festival week.

As our first yearling purchase of the season, she represents an exciting addition to the yard and one we are very much looking forward to seeing her develop.

With further sales taking place across both England and Ireland over the coming weeks, our focus remains on sourcing horses with the talent, pedigree and physical attributes to develop into future winners for our owners.

Looking Ahead

There is plenty more to look forward to as we head into the Autumn months, with several exciting targets on the horizon for the yard.

Away from the racecourse, the younger horses continue to develop at home, while the yearling sales season remains an important focus as we look to build for the future.

With exciting opportunities ahead both on and off the course, we are looking forward to what promises to be a busy and enjoyable end to the season.
